Hyderabad, May 26 (Reporter) Providing accident insurance coverage of over Rs 1 crore to electricity workers marks a historic milestone in the country, said Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu.
Speaking on Monday morning at Praja Bhavan, the Deputy CM addressed the gathering during a ceremony in which a cheque for Rs 1 crore was handed over as accident insurance to the family of Jogun Naresh, an electricity department worker who lost his life in a duty-related accident under NPDCL.
A compassionate appointment letter was also presented to his wife for a position in the Electricity Department.
The Deputy CM stated that such a significant welfare initiative was made possible under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the Indiramma government.
He emphasised that no previous administration had taken such a bold and compassionate step for workers’ welfare, and that this achievement reflects the proactive and humane governance of the current government.
Providing both accident insurance and a compassionate appointment demonstrates the government's vision, commitment, and empathy, he said.
The Deputy CM recalled that the accident insurance scheme was first introduced in Singareni and has now been extended to the electricity sector.
He noted that the Rs 1 crore insurance coverage brings a renewed sense of security to electricity department employees and encouraged them to continue serving the people of the state with dedication.
Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka also congratulated NPDCL CMD Varun Reddy for effectively implementing the government’s vision. The event was attended by Government Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, along with senior officials from the electricity and banking sectors...////...
