Mumbai, Nov 18 (Reporter) Congress in-charge of Maharashtra, Ramesh Chennithala, on Monday urged the Election Commission to immediately take cognizance of the alleged misuse of government machinery, power and money by the ruling parties in Mahayuti. The Congress party has been constantly pointing out that the police force is interfering in the election process, he said and informed that it has also made written complaints in this regard with the Chief Election Commissioner. Also, following persistent demand of the Congress party, the Election Commission has replaced Maharashtra DGP Rashmi Shukla with Sanjaykumar Varma to ensure impartial conduct of the election process. Despite this, the state government and big leaders from ruling parties are trying to influence the election by using the police force, he alleged. This is damaging to democracy, the Congress leader said and pointed that the party will be submitting a written complaint to the EC and the chief secretary in this regard.
