Srinagar, Apr 29 (Reporter) Amid rainy weather, Peoples Conference President Sajad Lone on Monday expressed concern over the flood-like situation across the Kashmir Valley, urging the administration to shift locals living in low-lying areas to safer places.
In a statement issued here, Lone asserted that inclement weather conditions have wreaked havoc on the local populace, with reports of inundation of villages and towns across the Kashmir division.
Kashmir Valley experiencing moderate to heavy spells of incessant rain from Sunday evening created panic in several parts of Kashmir valley.
Lone urged the Lt. Governor-led administration to mobilize all departments urgently and effectively to handle the situation besides emphasizing the readiness of State Disaster Response Force teams.
"I have been receiving calls from various districts, including Kupwara, Bandipora, Sopore, and even parts of Srinagar City, where people are facing huge water logging. There is a potent threat to life and property, for which the administration should take concrete steps to tackle this situation," he said...////...
