Punjab: 48 kg heroin worth Rs 240 crore seized in Jalandhar, 3 held

Jalandhar, April 29 (Reporter) Jalandhar Commissionerate police achieved a big success in cracking an international drug syndicate and seized 48 kg heroin worth Rs 240 crore and Rs 21 lakh drug money. Commissioner of police Swapan Sharma on Monday said that three persons have been arrested in this connection and are being interrogated. The police have also seized three high end vehicles besides a cash counting machine from the accused. The drug syndicate is spread to Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Afghanistan and Canada. The syndicate has a presence also in the states of Jammu Kashmir and Gujarat. The value of the heroin seized is said to be Rs 240 crore in the International market...////...
