Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Lord Shiva is a symbol of generosity, simplicity, and purity. He emphasized that Goddess Ganga resides in Lord Shiva’s matted hair, and the river of love flows from His heart, treating everyone equally. Hence, He is worshiped by all as Mahadev. Dr. Yadav directed officials to prepare an estimate for the beautification of Koteshwar Shiva Temple.
During his visit to Lanji, the Chief Minister unveiled statues of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and Rani Avantibai. He also announced that Kiranapur would be upgraded to a municipal council and that Karanja Higher Secondary School would be named after Shri Balasaheb Deoras. Dr. Yadav was addressing a gathering during the eight-day spiritual and cultural Koteshwar Mahotsav in Balaghat’s Lanji.
Dr. Yadav emphasized that fairs play a crucial role in preserving cultural traditions. Extending his advance greetings for Holi, he mentioned that this festival fosters social harmony. The cycle of fairs begins with Makar Sankranti and continues throughout the year, bringing joy to all. He highlighted that in Ujjain, the city of Mahakal, the Vikramotsav began on Maha Shivaratri, celebrating the legacy of King Vikramaditya, who symbolizes justice, righteousness, knowledge, culture, and bravery. The Vikram Samvat calendar, started in his honor, begins on Gudi Padwa.
