The Indian judicial system originated in the Vedic era, where disputes were resolved through institutions like Sabha and Samiti. This system became more robust during the time of Samrat Vikramaditya. Even today, his judicial system remains highly relevant. While times have changed, the concept of justice remains the same as established by Vikramaditya. Samrat Vikramaditya laid the foundation for a just, impartial, and equal society. These remarks were made by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav during the inauguration of the Vikramaditya Justice Ideological Conclave.

Chief Justice Shri Suresh Kumar Kait stated that Samrat Vikramaditya’s governance was system-driven rather than individual-centric. His administration was based on justice, administrative efficiency, and social harmony. Vikramaditya’s rule followed a well-organized and structured system. His justice was swift and transparent, making him a symbol of justice and good governance. Even today, Samrat Vikramaditya’s justice is cited as an example.
