Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasised that the passenger transport system in the state should prioritise the convenience and ease of common travelers. Bus operations should be managed using updated technology. For public convenience, vehicle location tracking, bus schedules and fare collection facilities should be made available on a mobile app. Buses operated by municipal corporations and e-buses provided by the Government of India should be integrated into a unified system. Urban and rural bus services should be rationalised and integrated to facilitate smooth connectivity between urban areas and adjoining rural regions. Administrative officials must ensure that bus operators do not restrict their vehicles only to profitable routes. Vehicles must operate only on the routes for which they have been granted permits, and strict action will be taken against any violators. To protect the environment, buses over 15 years old should be phased out of passenger transport operations. The state should study best practices from passenger bus systems in other states and adopt them.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed the organisation of a competition to design a logo for the state's passenger transport company. These directives were issued during a board meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Passenger Transport and Infrastructure Limited held on Tuesday, attended by Transport Minister Uday Pratap Singh and Chief Secretary Anurag Jain.

The meeting revealed that the passenger transport system will be operated in collaboration with bus operators and vehicle owners on a participatory model, similar to Uber and Ola. An Intelligent Transport Management System is being developed for seamless operations. This platform is India’s first integrated software, featuring 18 modules, including vehicle location tracking, automatic fare collection, alert systems, and complaint redressal. Passenger transport buses will initially operate in the Indore region, followed by Ujjain, with future expansion to Sagar and Jabalpur. Surveys, route planning, and consultations with private operators are currently underway. The Indore region will cover Dhar, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Khargaon, Burhanpur, Khandwa, and Badwani, while the Ujjain region will include Dewas, Agar-Malwa, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Shajapur, and Ratlam.
