Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Bhopal and fairs are deeply intertwined. The vibrancy of fairs is evident, which is why Bhopal is considered one of the leading cities in the country in terms of culture. He stated that these fairs not only strengthen the city’s identity but also keep local communities, traditions and social bonds alive.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasised that the Mela Sanskrity contributes to the state’s economy and promotes social harmony. Such events provide a platform for local artists, craftsmen and entrepreneurs to showcase their talents. He formally inaugurated the 33rd Bhopal Utsav Mela at Dussehra Maidan in T.T. Nagar by lighting the ceremonial lamp, performing Ganesh Puja. Tuesday evening. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated the organising committee and expressed hope that the fair would once again serve as a hub for trade, entertainment and cultural activities this year.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav further noted that the Bhopal Utsav Mela, now entering its 33rd year, has completed 32 years. It was first initiated in 1991–92 by the late Shri Rameshchandra Agrawal. What began as a small event has now grown into a vast tree of opportunities benefiting not only Bhopal residents but also tourists from distant places.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, highlighting the historical importance of fairs, said that fairs have always been an integral part of India’s ancient culture. They served not only as a medium to promote trade but also as carriers of religion, tradition and culture. He warned that societies that forget their traditions and culture risk losing their way or fading away. Therefore, it is essential to keep a fair culture alive. Cultural practices and traditions bring communities together and are vital for social unity, making it necessary to preserve fairs.
