Patna, Oct 5 (Reporter) Setting a target to win 220 seats out of 243 Assembly seats in the next General Assembly elections of Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar assigned tasks to the party workers to attain the goal.
Addressing the first meeting of the newly constituted state Executive of the organization here in the Party office on Saturday, the JDU National President Kumar whose party is a major constituent unit of NDA reiterated that his party was firmly with the NDA and would continue with the alliance in future.
Dubbing the opposition as rumour mongers, he alleged that the opposition was engaged in spreading rumours and was not at all interested in the development of the state, whereas he believes in work which is visible on the ground. He alleged that the opposition intended to take credit for the work done by him.
Assigning the tasks to the party workers, Kumar directed them to meet common people personally in their respective areas and apprise them about the development and welfare activities taken up by the government.
Stressing the need for booth-level organisational structure, he said that everyone should work to maintain coordination with the alliance partners.
Claiming a major victory for NDA in the Assembly Elections slated for next year, Kumar said that he had entered into a truck with the grand alliance twice in the past but now would not repeat it in future and would continue to be with the NDA.
Kumar asked the Party office bearers to inform the people about every work done for them by the state government.
Kumar said that he had promised to provide 10 lakh jobs but was providing more than the target. His government was providing employment opportunities to the people more than it had promised.
Expressing his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extending special assistance to Bihar, Kumar said that the state was getting ample assistance for the developmental schemes. Special attention has been accorded to Bihar in the union budget too.
The state Executive later adopted a resolution for contesting the next assembly elections scheduled to be held in 2025 under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. It also resolved to strengthen the organisational structure at the booths. The executive also resolved to maintain coordination with the alliance partners.
Former JDU President and Union Minister Lalan Singh was conspicuous by his absence from the meeting. It is learnt that due to personal reasons Singh could not attend the meeting...////...
