Night temperatures above normal at most places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi

Pune, Feb 27 (Reporter) Night temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at most places over Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi; at many places over Punjab; at a few places over west Rajasthan and Madhya Maharashtra at isolated places over west Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa. The temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand; at a few places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands; at isolated places Gujarat state and Marathwada; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over west Madhya Pradesh; at a few places over coastal Karnataka; at isolated places over east Madhya Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, north interior Karnataka and Kerala and Mahe. These were below normal (-3°C to -1°C) at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and Meghalaya and near normal over rest parts of the country. Today, the lowest minimum temperature of 9.8°C was reported at Ambikapur (Chhattisgarh) over the plains of the country. Heat wave conditions were observed at isolated places over Konkan and Goa. Hot and Humid conditions were observed at isolated places over Coastal Gujarat. Thunderstorm with lightning was reported at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Uttarakhand. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, west Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Mainly dry weather has prevailed in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalseema, coastal Karnataka, interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
