Madhya Pradesh has once again proven its leadership in the mining sector by securing the top position in the country. On Thursday, the Union Ministry of Mines released the State Mining Readiness Index and State Rankings. This achievement is the result of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s visionary leadership and his priority to make the mining sector a responsible and industrial development hub. It reflects the success of the state government's efforts in reform, modernization, and sustainable development within the mining sector.
Under the State Mining Readiness Index, states have been categorized into three groups based on their mineral reserves. In Category A, the top three states are Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. In Category B, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, and Assam hold the top three spots while in Category C, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Tripura figure in the top three positions.
Notably, Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a leading state in the country in mineral auctions. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the state secured the top position nationwide by auctioning a large number of mineral blocks. Recently, Madhya Pradesh also became the first state in the country to implement the central government’s policy on critical minerals auctions. The Government of India has honored Madhya Pradesh for conducting the highest number of mineral block auctions.
