Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has stated that the true success of any work lies in making others’ lives better through one's actions. Citing the example of sanitation workers, he mentioned that they rise before everyone else to clean the environment around us, ensuring a clean and pleasant atmosphere throughout the day.
Governor Shri Patel was addressing the Diwali greetings ceremony organized at the Sandipani Auditorium of Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. During the event, he presented gifts to officers and staff of Bhopal and Pachmarhi Raj Bhavan, as well as representatives from the in-house post office, bank, and other institutions. The stage was shared by Dr. Navneet Mohan Kothari, Principal Secretary to the Governor, and Shri Umashankar Bhargav, Additional Secretary to the Governor.
Governor Shri Patel emphasised that human life is received only once, and the results of one’s actions are also reaped in this life. He said that both good and bad tendencies come from nature, but lasting joy and true happiness can only be attained through hard work, merit and contentment. Governor Shri Patel reminded that destiny grants everyone what they truly deserve, but envy of others’ progress robs life of joy and contentment. He urged all to learn to control their negative tendencies. He noted that October is a month of festivals and self-purification. First, Navratri, then Vijayadashami, offer us opportunities to overcome our internal negativities. Likewise, Diwali is a time for renewal, new energy, and enthusiasm. It is an opportunity to forget each other's mistakes and shortcomings and to strengthen love and mutual harmony.
