Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav flagged off mobile forensic vans to strengthen crime investigation, evidence collection and scientific inquiry in state from Police Headquarters in Bhopal. He said that mobile forensic vans would prove highly effective in investigating crime scenes across various districts of Madhya Pradesh. This initiative undertaken by the police department under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Yadav will promote forensic based, swift, and accurate investigations, leading to quicker crime detection, higher conviction rates, and stronger public confidence in security.
A total of 57 mobile forensic vans are being provided to Madhya Pradesh Police. The total cost of these vans is Rs 36 crore 94 lakh 17 thousand 969. The amount has been provided by the Central Government. Of these, 14 mobile forensic vans were received on December 16, 2025 and have now been flagged off. The remaining mobile forensic vans will also be made available to districts shortly.
The mobile forensic vans are equipped with advanced equipment, including stereo microscopes, weighing balances, DSLR cameras, mini refrigerators, LED TV screens, thermal printers, body worn cameras, and other essential tools. In addition, the vans are equipped with investigation kits, crime scene protection kits, fingerprint, blood and hair identification tools, high intensity forensic light sources, footprint and tyre mark kits, arson investigation kits, evidence packing kits, bullet hole and gunshot residue kits, narcotics and explosive detection kits, as well as DNA collection and chain of custody kits.
