Mumbai, Sep 9 (Reporter) Senior BJP leader and Union Home minister Amit Shah, along with his wife Sonal, offered prayers to Lord Ganesha at the famous Lalbaugcha Raja in Mumbai on Monday.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, top BJP leader Ashish Shelar and others were also present on occasion.
Later, Shah also visited the residence of Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.
Lalbaugcha Raja is one of the most famous and reverred Ganesh idols in Mumbai, which attracts a massive crowd of devotees every year during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
According to sources, Shah is likely to hold a meeting with Shinde and his two deputies -- Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar to deliberate over preparations for the Maharashtra Assembly election expected to be held in mid-November.
Meanwhile, reacting on Amit Shah's visit to Lalbaugcha Raja, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut voiced strong objections upon the arrival of Shah and BJP officials in Mumbai.
Raut caustically remarked that Mumbai's Lalbaugcha Raja would be taken away to Gujarat.
He took a dig at Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating that ‘they have taken all of it to Gujarat’...////...
