Hyderabad, Apr 8 (Reporter) Union Minister and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy has welcomed the Telangana High Court's verdict upholding the death sentence for the five convicts in the 2013 Dilsukhnagar twin bomb blasts case.
Calling the decision a powerful message against terrorism, he said it reinforces the principle that violence has no place in a democracy.
“The Telangana High Court's verdict that death is the appropriate punishment for the terrorists who committed genocide makes it clear that democracy will not tolerate such heinous acts,” Reddy stated in a statement here on Tuesday.
He expressed confidence that justice has finally been served to the families of the victims, who have been haunted by the tragedy for the past 12 years.
Reddy assured that the BJP stands firmly with the victims’ families and shares in their sense of relief. “On behalf of the BJP, we express our satisfaction with the High Court’s decision to uphold the death sentence awarded by the NIA court,” he said.
Highlighting the Centre’s commitment to national security, Reddy said, “Since the BJP came to power, the Modi government has prioritized the country’s security and adopted a zero tolerance policy towards terrorism. In the past 11 years, such incidents have not found space under the BJP rule. Our government is committed to completely eradicating terrorism.”
He also urged political parties to avoid appeasement politics, stating, “In a democracy, appeasement should not be encouraged. All political parties must keep national security above vote bank considerations.”
Reddy lauded the role of the National Investigation Agency for its thorough investigation and acknowledged the efforts of police personnel who contributed to bringing the culprits to justice.
He emphasised the need for governments at all levels to give top priority to national security and take even stricter measures to prevent such attacks in the future...////...
