Srinagar, Dec 4 (Reporter) An off-duty Territorial Army soldier was injured in a militant attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Awantipora sub-district on Wednesday evening, officials said.
They said the soldier, identified as Dilher Mushtaq, a resident of Sofigund Aripal Tral, was shot near his home.
“The soldier was immediately shifted to a medical facility where his condition is stated to be stable,” they said.
Dilher is posted in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and was on leave, when he was shot by militants.
Soon after the incident, a search operation was launched by the joint forces in the area to trace the attacker.
This is the second such attack on a local soldier in nearly two months. On October eight, Rifleman Hilal Ahmed Bhat of 162 Inf Bn (TA) was abducted by militants during a counter-insurgency operation in Anantnag. His body, riddled with bullets, was found the following day...////...
