His 'revolution' saved Shiv Sena: Shinde

Kolhapur, Feb 17 (Reporter) Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday claimed that he brought about 'revolution' one-and-a-half-year ago by breaking up undivided Shiv Sena with 50 MLAs and thus saved Shiv Sena courageously. Addressing a huge rally in Shivaji Peth area of city as part of two-day national convention of Shiv Sena (Shinde) on concluding day late this evening, he hit out at Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, saying that those who gave up thoughts of Sena founder late Bal Thackeray for 'chair' but after his revolt, his faction Shiv Sena (Shinde) has carried forward thoughts of late Thackeray. He asked why Thackeray did not help party workers who came to him with difficulties. In run-up to Lok Sabha elections, he remembered Hindutva and Sree Ram, which he deserted for power, the Chief Minister said in a jibe. Criticising 'INDIA' bloc, Shinde said that they came together only to oppose Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but they are now in ruins, he claimed. Under the leadership of Modi, the country has made rapid progress in past 10 years, which could not happen during Congress rule of 50 years, he also claimed. On Maratha reservation issue, Shinde said that he would give reservation to the Maratha community without disturbing OBC quota.
