Mumbai, Feb 18 (Reporter) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Sunday greeted people of the state on eve of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji's birth anniversary. In the message issued here, he said that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is the greatest ruler of all times in the world. "The Maharaj created 'Swarajya' through struggle by taking the 'Atharapgarh (different castes) Mavlas' along Sahyadri mountain range. They were the kings of ryots. He was the patron of artists and introduced concept of welfare state. "On the ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, a united movement towards creation of a kingdom is going on in Maharashtra, and this movement will continue in a fast manner," Pawar said while paying tributes to him on occasion of Shiv Jayanti. "... It is our fortune that a great man like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born in the soil of Maharashtra. Every decision taken by Shivaji Maharaj was taken keeping in mind the interest of Swarajya and the welfare of the people," he noted.
