Chandigarh, Dec 6 (Reporter) Haryana police lobbed teargas shells on Friday at the Shambhu border with Punjab in Ambala district to block the March to Delhi protest organised by some farmers' bodies.
Around 100 farmers sought to begin their Delhi march from Shambhu border carrying flags and chanting slogans, However, the Ambala police stopped them by putting up barricades. .
When the farmers tried to remove the barricades, police fired tear gas shells at them.
Around a dozen farmer organisations had announced the march towards Delhi demanding a law guaranteeing minimum support price for their produce..
Earlier, the Haryana government suspended internet services in ten villages of Ambala.
The Ambala administration had asked the farmers to first seek permission from New Delhi police and also imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, in the district.
