Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed officials to ensure that fertilizers are made available to farmers in a convenient and organised manner for the upcoming Kharif 2025 season. He emphasised the need for wide publicity of the expected fertilizer rakes and distribution arrangements, especially in districts with high demand for urea in the next seven days.

CM Dr. Yadav issued these instructions during a joint review meeting of the Departments of Cooperation, Revenue and Farmers’ Welfare & Agriculture Development held at the Mantralaya on Tuesday. The chief Minister emphasised that the fertilizer supply system is being continuously reviewed at the state level and ordered strict action against black marketing, illegal storage and tagging, misbranding, and unauthorised transportation of fertilizers. Where there is excessive crowding at sale centers, additional counters must be set up to streamline the distribution process.

The Chief Minister directed that fertilizer storage at marketing society sale centers and PACS must be ensured as per the prescribed ratio. He instructed District Collectors to conduct surprise inspections of double lock centers, PACS, and private sale outlets, and to verify stocks.

CM Dr. Yadav highlighted the risk of subsidized urea being misused in industries such as animal feed, poultry feed, lamination, resin, plywood, paint, liquor, printing and adulterated milk production. He ordered random inspections of such units and directed strict action if subsidized urea is found. He also emphasised the need to promote the use of nano urea and suggested exploring the idea of home delivery of fertilizers based on farmers’ needs, which could help curb the misuse of subsidized urea.
