Madhya Pradesh Will Continue to Lead in Cleanliness: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed confidence that Madhya Pradesh will continue to lead the nation in the field of cleanliness. He made this statement during a courtesy visit by Bhopal Mayor Smt. Malti Rai, who called on him at the Mantralaya along with other public representatives on Tuesday evening. During the meeting, Mayor Smt. Rai presented the Chief Minister with the citation and trophy awarded to Bhopal by the President of India for excellence in cleanliness.

Congratulating the Bhopal Municipal Corporation team, CM Dr. Yadav extended best wishes to Mayor Smt. Rai, Municipal Chairman Shri Kishan Suryavanshi, Shri Ravindra Yati, Shri Rajesh Hingorani and other officials.

President Smt. Droupadi Murmu recently honored several cities of Madhya Pradesh, including Indore and Bhopal, in the Swachh Survekshan 2024 Awards. Bhopal received the second prize in the category of cities with over 10 lakh population.

Representatives from Budhni Nagar Council also met the Chief Minister and informed him that Budhni was awarded in the category of towns with less than 20,000 populations. CM Dr. Yadav congratulated both civic bodies.

Mayor Smt. Rai informed that, apart from Bhopal, Indore was awarded the Best Clean City in the over 10 lakh population category under the Swachh League Award. Ujjain secured the top spot among cities with a population between 3 to 10 lakh, while Budhni was recognised as the Best Clean City in the under 20,000 population category.

Mayor SMT. Rai added that sanitation workers in Bhopal will also be felicitated for their outstanding contribution to cleanliness.
