Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said it is a matter of immense pride that Madhya Pradesh has the richest forest cover in the country. He emphasised that trees form the foundation of life on Earth, as the balance between carbon dioxide and oxygen makes life possible. He added, Pledging to plant trees during the auspicious month of Sawan is a meaningful gift for future generations—a step toward a cleaner, greener and healthier environment. CM Dr. Yadav shared these thoughts on Tuesday during a massive one-day plantation campaign organised at the National Museum of Mankind in collaboration with Bhopal Municipal Corporation and Bhojpal Mitra Parishad.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav planted a Bael (Belpatra) sapling and visited an exhibition of paintings and projects on environmental awareness created by school students. He interacted with the students and encouraged them to continue their commitment to the environment. He emphasised the need to replant in areas affected by deforestation, stating that such efforts would restore greenery and vitality to the land.
CM Dr. Yadav also extended congratulations and best wishes to all institutions involved in this noble cause. Under the one-day mega plantation drive, a target of planting 5,100 saplings across Bhopal was set.
Social Justice and Welfare Minister Shri Narayan Singh Kushwaha, MLA Shri Bhagwandas Sabnani, Mayor of Bhopal Smt. Malti Rai along with public representatives, environmentalists and students were present during occasion.
