Mumbai, Nov 4 (Reporter) Dr Syed Nasir Hussain, a member of the Congress Working Committee and senior observer for North Maharashtra in the assembly election, on Monday urged the people of the state to elect a party that works for the welfare of Maharashtra and not for Gujarat.
Talking to reporters here, he claimed that during the tenure of massively corrupt BJP-alliance government, major contracts were awarded to Gujarat-based contractors, and projects such as Tata Airbus, Vedanta Foxconn, diamond industry and bulk drugs park, which belonged to Maharashtra, were shifted to Gujarat, taking away local jobs as well.
The BJP-alliance government not only handed over Maharashtra's projects and employment to Gujarat but also facilitated influx of large quantities of narcotics from Gujarat to Maharashtra, ruining the youth, he alleged.
The triple-engine government of Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis-Ajit Pawar is working not for Maharashtra, but for Gujarat, he continued.
The Congress leader further alleged that the BJP-alliance government is corrupt and full of scandals, having broken many records in scams.
This included a Rs 10,000 crore scam in Jalyukt Shivar, Rs 8,000 crore ambulance scam, Rs 6,000 crore road scam in Mumbai, and many more, he informed while listing out scams.
Companies that provided large donations to BJP through electoral bonds were given major projects in Maharashtra, he charged.
He accused BJP of inducting those leaders in their party, like Ajit Pawar, Ravindra Waikar and Ashok Chavan, whom their senior leaders had once accused of corruption but now remain mum.
He demanded an answer from BJP for this.
Dr Hussain also deplored BJP's coercive tactics such as use of central agencies like CBI and Enforcement Directorate, to break regional parties and topple opposition governments in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Goa and Maharashtra.
Just as the people of Karnataka taught BJP a lesson by bringing a Congress government with majority, Maharashtra's people, who feel betrayed by BJP, will also bring in a Congress-MVA government, he added...////...
