Kolhapur, Nov 4 (Reporter) Senior NCP (SP) leader and MP, Supriya Sule, on Monday strongly criticised Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis for breach of trust of people by showing a file with signature of then state Home minister late R R Patil on it to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, an accused in irrigation scam worth Rs 70,000 crore, and demanded his resignation from the post. While talking to reporters here, she said that Fadnavis, after becoming the chief minister, had taken oath of secrecy then how did he show a file with permission for an open inquiry against Ajit Pawar, who himself was an accused in Rs 70,000 crore irrigation scam, to him and termed his action as anti- constitutional. She further said that Fadnavis should give a clarification to the people of the state for his action of showing the file of an open inquiry to Ajit Pawar and pointed that it was totally against morality. The NCP (SP) leader accused Fadnavis of cheating the people of the state and sought his resignation from the posts as DyCM and Home minister. She described Ajit Pawar's statement on former state Home minister R R Patil, who passed away nine years ago, as very unfortunate. Notably, Ajit Pawar, while addressing a rally in Tasgaon of Sangli district, had alleged that late Patil had betrayed him by ordering an open inquiry into Rs 70,000 crore irrigation scam. Speaking further, she said this assembly election was against wrong policies of both the state and the central governments. Except roads, both the governments were on backfoot in all sectors including economy, agriculture, industry, she alleged. "Neighbouring Pakistan exported its onions to the world but our government could not give proper rates to onions grown here," she claimed and alleged that inflation, unemployment and corruption were increasing rapidly in the country. Barring the much-touted 'Ladki Bahin' yojana, this government had no other programmes, she claimed. Ms Sule further said that Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Arvind Sawant has apologised for his statement on rival Shinde Sena candidate Shaina N C but the leaders of the ruling parties have never offered an apology despite having made insulting remarks against women, she alleged. Even, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has also not made any statement on this, she added...////...
