Bareilly, Jan 12 (Reporter) An MP-MLA court in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh has issued a warrant against wife of former Union External Affairs Salman Khurshid and former MLA Louise Khurshid in an alleged scam in distribution of prostheses and equipment to specially-abled people, a prosecution counsel said here on Friday. Special Public Prosecutor Archit Dwivedi said that the MP-MLA court of Magistrate Shubhangi issued a warrant against Louise Khurshid and Athar Farooqui on Thursday for failing to appear before it and directed the Police Commissioner of New Delhi to arrest the accused and produce them in the court while fixing January 30 as the next date of hearing," he said. He said that in the year 2010 the Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment had released a grant of Rs 71.5 lakh to Dr Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust in Farrukhabad to distribute prostheses and equipment to specially-abled people. Dwivedi said that the trust sent a test report to the Union Ministry regarding distribution of prostheses and equipment to 21 specially-abled people in a camp organised at Bhojipura block in Bareilly district. "When the report was cross-checked by the Ministry it was found that no camp was organised in Bhojipura block," he said. He said that the inquiry revealed that the signature and the stamp of the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Bhojipura were also fake. "After this Inspector of Crime Investigation Department Rama Shankar Yadav lodged a complaint at Bhojipura police station on May 29, 2017. While a representative of the trust Pratyush Shukla was named in the FIR, the then director Louise Khurshid and its secretary Athar Farooqui were also accused in the case," he said...////...
