CM Dr. Yadav Offers Prayers to Maa Janaki at Punoura Dham in Sitamarhi

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Sunday visited the sacred temple at Punoura Dham, Sitamarhi in Bihar, the birthplace of Maa Janaki, and offered prayers & worship to Janaki Maiya.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav performed the aarti of Janaki Maiya and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of all the citizens of Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister was accorded a traditional welcome in the temple premises by the priests and local devotees, who honored him with a turban and shawl. He gathered information about the historical and religious significance of the temple and said that the birthplace of Mata Janaki (Punoura Dham) is a magnificent confluence of Indian culture, faith, and architectural art. He stated that Mata Janaki was an embodiment of devotion and sacrifice. On behalf of the people of Madhya Pradesh, he bowed at her feet and prayed for the welfare of all.A large number of devotees were present in the temple premises during the visit of the Chief Minister, and the entire atmosphere resonated with chants in praise of Mata Janaki.Addressing the media after the darshan & worship at Punoura Dham, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that he was fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit the birthplace of Mata Janaki. This place reminds us of the era of Lord Shri Ram’s Ramrajya, the swayamvar and marriage ceremony of Maa Sita, and her departure from here to Ayodhya. He said that the life of Lord Shri Ram continues to inspire us all. Referring to the Supreme Court’s verdict,

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that following the decision, people from both Hindu and Muslim communities worked together to build the grand temple of Shri Ram at Ayodhya.

Under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country has witnessed the rise of religious tourism in places like Kashi, Ayodhya, Prayagraj and Ujjain. Every section of society is benefiting from the Mahakal Lok project in Ujjain. The Chief Minister further said that Prime Minister Shri Modi has approved funds for the construction of Janakpuri Dham in Sitamarhi, which will enrich the region and Bihar with cultural values and emerge as a major center for employment and religious tourism for the local people.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the land of Bihar has always attracted people since the time of Emperor Ashoka. It was on this land that Samba, son of Lord Shri Krishna, constructed a grand Sun Temple. The relationship between Bihar and Madhya Pradesh has remained strong throughout history. The double-engine governments in both states are moving forward with the welfare of every section of society, including the poor, farmers, youth, and women.
