Chandigarh, Jan 25 (Reporter) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Haryana Unit Secretary, Harbilas Rajjumajra was shot dead at Naraingarh in Ambala district on Friday night, police said on Saturday.
Police said that unknown assailants attacked Rajjumajra, when he, along with his two friends, was sitting in a parked car near Ahluwalia Park.
The attackers fired indiscriminately and five bullets hit Rajjumajra. One of his friends was also injured. Both were rushed to PGI, Chandigarh where the Haryana unit Secretary succumbed to his bullet injuries.
Police have launched a probe and formed teams to nab the assailants.
Harbilas Rajjumajra, had contested unsuccessfully from Naraingarh in Haryana Assembly Election three months back as a candidate of the BSP-Indian National Lokdal alliance.
BSP and INLD have reacted to the murder and demanded that culprits should be nabbed soon.
BSP National coordinator Akash Anand wrote on X that the law and order situation under the BJP was in disorder be it in Haryana, Maharashtra or UP. He said that a murder in the home district of the Chief Minister of the state was an example of a bad situation of law and order.
INLD General Secretary Abhay Singh Chautala alleged that "Goondaraj" was at its peak in Haryana due to the complete failure of the state government and administration. He said that such incidents defamed Haryana in the global arena and were unacceptable.
Chautala said that the people feel insecure and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits...////...
