Amid tight security, counting underway for 3 LS seats of Kashmir

Srinagar, June 4 (Reporter) Amid tight security the counting of votes for the three Lok Sabha constituencies of Kashmir started on Tuesday morning, officials said. According to initial trends, National Conference and Peoples Conference were leading from two Lok Sabha seats of Kashmir. The counting started at 8 am in four counting centres established for the three constituencies of Srinagar, Baramulla and Anantnag-Rajouri. A three tier security is in place for ensuring peaceful counting. The fate of several prominent candidates, former Chief Ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, Sajad Lone of the People’s Conference (PC) , jailed leader Abdul Rashid Sheikh aka Engineer Rashid of Awami Ithad Party (AIP), Mian Altaf of the National Conference (NC) and Waheed Parra of Peoples Democratic Party will be decided on Tuesday.
