Shimla, June 3 (Reporter) Himachal Pradesh Lok Sabha and assembly bye election highlights have revealed that turnout of women voters was more than their male counterparts.
According to data released by the Election Commission of India, women registered average turnout of 72.62 per cent compared to 69.31 by men in the Lok Sabha election.
Similarly in assembly bye elections, women voters outshone men at these six polls, where they registered 77.43 percent compared to 70.42 pc of men.
In Hamirpur Parliamentary constituency out of total turnout of 71.56 per cent, the women registered 75.16 pc polling compared to 67.95 pc of men.
In Mandi Parliamentary where Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut was in fray registered 73.15 pc polling including female turnout of 74.19 pc and 72.13 pc men.
Kangra LS registered 67.89 pc polliing including 74.18 pc female and 64.64 male.
Shimla reserved seat having total turnout of 71.26 pc was the only one where female turnout (69.92 pc) was less than male (72.54 pc).
Kotkaihlur assembly bye election registered 76.89 per cent polling having highest female turnout of 80.89 pc and 72.83 pc of male followed by Gagret assembly (75.14 pc) total turnout, 77.95 pc women and 72.40 pc men.
Lahaul Spiti district where number of female voters are more than male registered 75.09 pc polling having a female candidate of Congress Anuradha Rana in fray and recorded 77.39 pc female and 72.77 pc male voters.
Sujanpur assembly elections registered 73.76 pc polling with 78.78 pc female and 68.46 pc male. Badsar assembly bye election registered 71.69 pc polling including 77.03 pc female and 66.18 pc male.
In Mandi Parliamentary constituency, Badsar and Kotlehair also registered 100 percent polling by the others...////...
