Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that air ambulance services in Madhya Pradesh will be expanded and made more efficient to ensure that critically ill patients and seriously injured accident victims receive timely medical attention. He added that even the poorest citizens should have access to this life-saving service.
Currently, the state operates one helicopter and one aeroplane under the air ambulance service. Future plans include zoning the state to ensure wider availability of air ambulance services based on regional requirements.
The Chief Minister also informed that vehicles to transport mortal remains from hospitals to the deceased's home will be made available at the district level initially, and later extended to block and tehsil levels. This will ensure dignity in death and ease for bereaved families.
Chairing a review meeting of the Public Health and Medical Education Department at the Mantralaya, Dr. Yadav directed that retired medical specialists should be engaged in government medical colleges to enhance healthcare services. He also reviewed various health initiatives, including maternal-child health tracking under Anmol 2.0, the Ayushman Bharat scheme, and efforts to eliminate malnutrition in coordination with the Department of Women and Child Development.
Dr. Yadav emphasised increased public awareness and promotion of organ and body donation, stating that donors and their families should be recognised and honoured on significant occasions. Organ donation can save multiple lives, and body donation is crucial for medical education and training.
