8 Maoists killed in police encounter in Jharkhand

Ranchi (Jharkhand), April 21 (Reporter) Eight Maoists were killed in an encounter with police in Jharkhand's Bokaro district on Monday, police said. Bokaro Range DIG Surendra Kumar Jha said several sophisticated weapons were recovered after the encounter that took place near Soso Tola at the foothills of Lugu mountain in Chorgaon, adjoining Lalmatia in Bokaro district. Intermittent exchange of fire is still going on between police and naxals at the foothills of Lugu Pahar near Soso Tola. Bokaro SP Manoj Savargiyari said that the police have surrounded the Maoists. A search operation is also underway in the area. "We will ask all Naxalites to surrender," said DIG Jha. "Our soldiers will kill those who continue to fire at them," he said...////...
