Harare, Mar 27 (Reporter) Two Test matches each against South Africa and New Zealand are in order for Zimbabwe, alongside competing in a tri-nation T20I series.
The series kicks off with Zimbabwe taking on South Africa in the longest format of the game for the first time since 2017 at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo in a gripping two-match Test series.
The two sides will then join New Zealand for a T20I tri-series, set to begin on July 14, where each team will face one another twice over two weeks, with the top two advancing to the final on July 26
to compete for the trophy.
Zimbabwe will then shift back to red-ball cricket, taking on New Zealand in a two-match Test series
at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, marking the first time the two sides meet in the longest format since 2016, an ICC report said.
Speaking on the contest against the Proteas and the Black Caps, “This is the biggest international home season we have had in years, and it is an incredible opportunity for our players to test themselves against two of the world’s cricketing powerhouses,” said Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni.
“Hosting South Africa and New Zealand for both Test cricket and an exciting T20I tri-series is a fantastic development for the growth of the game in Zimbabwe," he said.
