Mumbai, Jan 16 (Reporter) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) o Thursday unveiled the much-awaited schedule for the third edition of the TATA Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025.
The premier women's T20 league will be held across four cities - Vadodra, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai - promising an exciting cricketing spectacle for fans worldwide.
The tournament will kick off on 14 February at the newly constructed BCA Stadium in Vadodra, where the Gujarat Giants (GG) will square off against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a highly anticipated season opener.
Vadodra will host a total of six matches before the action shifts to Bengaluru, where RCB will play their first home game against Mumbai Indians (MI), the champions of the inaugural WPL edition, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on 21 February.
RCB will feature in three more home games, hosting UP Warriorz (UPW) on 24 February, GG on 27 February, and Delhi Capitals (DC) on 1 March. This year, Lucknow will make its debut as a WPL venue, with UPW playing three matches at their home ground from 3rd March.
The tournament will culminate in Mumbai, where the Cricket Club of India (CCI) will stage the final two league matches, as well as the Playoff games. Mumbai Indians will conclude the league stage with back-to-back home fixtures against GG and RCB on 10 and 11 March, respectively.
The playoffs will see the top two teams earn direct entry into the final, while the second and third-placed teams will face off in a thrilling Eliminator on 13 March. The final, where the ultimate champion will be crowned, is scheduled for Saturday, 15 March.
Following the format from the previous season, all matches in the WPL 2025 will be single-headers, ensuring an action-packed and focused experience for players and fans alike. UNI BDN
