Jaunpur (UP), July 18 (Reporter) A criminal carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head was arrested after a brief encounter with a joint police team in Baksa area of Jaunpur district in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said on Thursday. Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Ajay Pal Sharma said that on receiving a tip off a police team confronted criminals near Ghara Saini village on Wednesday night. "In retaliatory firing, one of the criminals sustained bullet injury in his leg," he said. The injured criminal, Atul Gaur alias Raja Gaur, was admitted to hospital in police custody. "A .32 bore pistol along with cartridges, two gold chains and cash was recovered from his possession," he said. The SP said that Raja's accomplice managed to escape from the spot. "A total 30 cases are lodged against the arrested criminal in different police stations in Pratapgarh and Jaunpur," he said...////...
