Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that ‘Madhya Pradesh@2047: Vision Document’ is a roadmap to make the state economically strong, culturally rich, and to raise the quality of life of its citizens upto the apex level.
The Chief Minister said that the Vision Document aims to make Madhya Pradesh as a $2.5 trillion economy by the year 2047. Along with this, it envisions increasing the per capita income to ₹22 lakh, the average life expectancy to 84 years, and the literacy rate to 100 percent. A plan has been drawn to balance the agriculture-based economy with industrial and service sectors, making the state self-reliant and developed. Inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’ vision, this document will serve as the foundation for realizing the dream of a prosperous, happy, and culturally rooted Madhya Pradesh.
‘Samriddh Madhya Pradesh@2047’ Vision Document prepared with public participation
This Vision Document has been designed through the largest process of public participation in the state’s history. More than four lakh citizens—including farmers, students, industrialists, experts, and social organizations—have actively contributed. Suggestions gathered through public dialogues, essay competitions, industry consultations, academic sessions, and site inspections across the state have been incorporated. This is a unique process adopted in India.
According to Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, “This document is not merely a government plan, but a reflection of citizens’ aspirations and the collective vision of the state.”
Vision Document based on four guiding principles
‘Prosperous Madhya Pradesh@2047’ focuses on four key guiding principles. Focus on Economic Growth – emphasis on accelerating the state’s economy, generating employment, and attracting investment. Regional Approach and Local Specificities – Tailored strategies for each region, considering Madhya Pradesh’s diverse geographical, social, and economic characteristics. Contribution to the National Vision of ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’ – Aims to make Madhya Pradesh a key partner in India’s journey toward development. Participatory and Inclusive Vision – Developed through joint consultation among citizens, experts, industries, and the administration so that every stakeholder becomes part of this transformative journey.
These four principles provide balance and realism to the document making it not merely a plan but a firm commitment to the state’s future.
Six focus areas
The roadmap identifies six major milestones to achieve a Viksit Madhya Pradesh. These include Next-generation agriculture and allied sectors, Sustainable industrial growth, Expansion of the service sector, Development of urban and rural infrastructure, World-class education and skill development and Quality health and nutrition services.
Additionally, two critical enablers—efficient governance and citizen service delivery and innovation-driven financial management and investment promotion—are also included in the Vision Document.
‘Year of Industry and Employment 2025’: A decisive step toward self-reliance
The state government has declared the year 2025 as ‘Industry and Employment Year.’ The initiative aims to create new opportunities for youth, promote industrial investment, and take a decisive step toward a self-reliant Madhya Pradesh. Expansion of industrial areas, startup promotion, skill training, and technical education will be prioritized under this initiative.

Madhya Pradesh, with its glorious heritage, art, culture, and life-giving traditions like the Narmada, will play a guiding role in India’s development.
‘Prosperous Madhya Pradesh’ through collective efforts
