Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the remarkable courage and valor of Veerangana Rani Avanti Bai instilled fear in the British. On her martyrdom day, we all remember her with gratitude and pay our respects. At the martyrdom site in Balpur, Dindori, Dr. Yadav offered floral tributes to her statue. He emphasized that great personalities accomplish extraordinary feats even at a young age, making them immortal in history. He explained that "Avanti" means "endless," and true to her name, Rani Avanti Bai raised the flag of independence at just 26 years of age and sacrificed her life opposing British annexation policies.

During the event, the Chief Minister announced that the Samna Development Block in Dindori district would be upgraded to a tehsil. Remembering the bravery and valor of Rani Avanti Bai, he highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is the land of great warriors such as Rani Durgavati, Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi, Devi Ahilyabai, Raja Raghunath Shah, and Kunwar Shankar Shah. These warriors, despite limited resources, fiercely fought against British rule for the honor of their land and self-respect. Rani Avanti Bai’s life teaches us the importance of resisting injustice, as she stood against Dalhousie’s Doctrine of Lapse to protect her kingdom. Due to her immense contribution, she is revered not only by the Lodhi community but by society at large.
