UP: Six arrested for kidnapping man in Etawah

Etawah, Nov 9 (Reporter) Six persons, including a rice mill owner, were arrested by the police for thrashing and kidnapping a man, at Vaidpur area of Etawah district in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here on Saturday. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjay Kumar said that on November 8, Ashish Kumar, a resident of Nagla Deep village, informed the local police that Dalveer Singh, Umesh Singh, Mangal Singh, Bhure Singh, Keshav Yadav and Pradeep Kumar Agnihotri thrashed his father Ramdev and kidnapped him. He said that on the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case under relevant sections of BNS. "Three teams were constituted to trace Ramdev," the SSP said. Kumar said that on Friday evening the police were tipped off that Ramdev was held captive in Durga Rice Mill in Kunaura. "Acting on the tip off the police rescued Ramdev from Durga Rice Mill," he said. The SSP said that the police arrested mill owner Dalveer Singh, and his aides. "The police recovered an SUV and a motorcycle used in the kidnapping," he said. Kumar said during police interrogation the main kidnapper Dalveer Singh said that Ramdev had bought a buffalo from him on loan and had not paid the full amount for it.
