Rampur (UP), Mar 5 (Reporter) A 50-year-old Sub-Inspector (SI) allegedly hanged himself in his barrack and committed suicide in Suar area of the district in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, police sources said here. Police sources said that Nayab Khan, who was posted at Suar Kotwali of the district, hanged himself in his barrack room in uniform. "Nayab Khan was SI of 1994 batch and was posted in Halka number one, although he had been transferred. He was due for promotion," they said. Police sources said that it is being said that he had two wives. "He was originally from Kampil in Farrukhabad. His family lives in Bareilly. On Wednesday at around 1 pm, his family called him repeatedly, but he did not pick up the phone, after which they contacted Rampur police," they said. Police sources said that when the police went to the barrack, it saw that the body of the SI was hanging from the latch.
