Gonda (UP), July 23 (Reporter) A person accused of murder of a Samajwadi Party (SP) leader was arrested in an encounter with the police in Paraspur area of Gonda district here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here on Tuesday. Superintendent of Police (SP) Vineet Jaiswal said that Rohit Singh, who is an accused in the Om Prakash Singh murder case, was intercepted by the police near Bahuriganj turn on Monday night. "In a bid to escape, Rohit opened fire on the police team. In retaliatory firing he sustained bullet injury in his leg," he said. He said that the injured criminal has been admitted to the hospital in police custody. "SP leader Om Prakash Singh was killed with sharp-edged weapons on July 19 over an old rivalry.
