Kannauj (UP), Jan 11 (Reporter) A criminal involved in murder of a bullion trader was killed and his aide was injured in an encounter with the police during which two personnel were also injured in Gursahaiganj area of Kannauj district here in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, a senior police officer said here. Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Kumar Anand said that on January 5 evening unidentified miscreants attempted to snatch the jewellery bag of bullion trader Ayaz (32) while he was going home after closing his shop. "When Ayaz resisted, the miscreants shot him and escaped with the booty," he said. He said that the bullion trader was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to injury. "When CCTV footage was scanned, the miscreants were seen wearing helmets at one place after which a cash reward of Rs 25,000 was announced," he said. The SP said that on Thursday morning around 7:30 am the Gursahaiganj police had an encounter with the miscreants identified as Izhaar and Talib near Jahangirpur in which they sustained bullet injuries. "Two police personnel Aman Singh and Vinay Kumar also sustained injuries. The injured were taken to the hospital where Izhaar died during treatment," he said.
