Patna, May 26 (Reporter) After detection of two new Covid 19 cases including a doctor, Bihar government has sounded an alert to face any challenge in the event of surge in cases in days ahead and also appealed to people not to go panic over the new variant of Corona case detected in the state. Official sources said here today that two COVID-19 cases were detected in Patna, including a doctor posted at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS). Besides a doctor posted at AIIMS, a youth who is resident of Patna has also been found to be infected with COVID-19. Civil Surgeon of Patna, Avinash Kumar Singh said the youth detected Covid 19 case has no travel history. Youth has been residing in Bihar for a long period and has not visited any state in the recent past. " Youth has been admitted to a local hospital where he is being treated as per established protocol to treat Covid 19 cases ", said the Civil Surgeon, and added that close vigil was being kept on the patient. " New sub variants of Covid 19, NB 1.8.1 and L F 7 have been detected in Patna ", official sources confirmed, but at the same time advised people not to go panic. All precautionary measures were being taken to check the spread of the new variant of COVID-19, sources added. Meanwhile, Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department Pratyay Amrit convened a high-level meeting to assess the preparedness of the state health administration to face the challenge. Two new subvariants Covid-19-- NB.1.8.1 and LF-7 detected in Patna were placed under the category of keeping close vigil by the World Health Organisation(WHO), he added. " All necessary arrangements like availability of medicines, oxygens, separate wards, masks, test kits, and adequate deployment of doctors and paramedical staff are being made at government hospitals to provide immediate treatment to COVID-19 cases ", Pratya Amrit said...////...
