Two BJP leaders attacked during a protest over water shortage in north Kashmir

Srinagar, July 19 (Reporter) The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday said protesters in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district attacked two of its leaders, injuring their Personal Security Officers (PSOs). BJP said party’s media incharge Kashmir Sajid Yousuf Shah and social media incharge Sahil Bashir Bhat were attacked by an unknown mob at Mirgund Pattan. “ PSOs were also seriously injured,” BJP said in a statement. Police have not issued any statement. Sources said the incident took place during a protest over the water shortage at Chanibal on the Srinagar Baramulla highway. The protesters blocked the highway. Police later swung into action and tried to disperse the protesters. Later clashes erupted in the area. Additional police forces have been sent to the area to control the situation. Eyewitnesses said police fired tear smoke shells to quell the protesters. They said several vehicles were damaged by the protesters...////...
