Fazilka (Punjab), July 19 (Reporter) A man and son were allegedly shot dead by a person over a land dispute at Pakka village in this district on Friday. Both the deceased and the assailant belong to the same village. The deceased have been identified as Atvar Singh (58) and his son Harmeet Singh (28). The deceased's brother Karaj Singh informed the police that his brother Atvar Singh had taken about 8 acres of land on lease in the village. The accused who used to farm on the land which was taken on contract used to bore a grudge against them. He said when his brother and nephew were irrigating the fields, the accused came to the spot and shot his nephew Harmeet Singh and his brother Avtar Singh and they died on the spot. The deceased Avtar Singh had two sons, of which Harmeet Singh was killed along with his father. While the other son is disabled. The deceased youth, Harmeet Singh, was married and had a son after a daughter a few days ago. A case has been registered by the police and further investigation is underway...////...
