Jaunpur (UP), Mar 26 (Reporter) Three persons were sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 10,000 each by a local court in Jaunpur here in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday in a 19-year-old murder case, prosecution sources said here. Prosecution sources said that Vinod Singh, a resident of Jawansipar under Newadhiya police station, lodged a case that on August 29, 2006, his son Kunwar Pratap Singh (20) was taken from home by Monu alias Sachin to the house of Chanchal and Chandan. Prosecution sources said that Virendra and Chandan, who were present in the veranda, challenged to kill Pratap after which a juvenile shot his son in the chest killing him on the spot. "The complainant claimed that he along with Dilip and Ravindra Nath witnessed the incident," they said. After examining the statements of the witnesses and the evidence available on the record the court of Additional Sessions Judge (IV) Rupali Saxena held the accused guilty and sentenced Monu alias Sachin, Chandan and Virendra to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 10,000 each.
