Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that the upcoming Simhastha Mahakumbh will be celebrated in Ujjain in a grand and divine manner, with the pure, flowing waters of Maa Kshipra enhancing the sanctity of the occasion. He offered a 351-feet long Chunari to Maa Kshipra at Ramghat, accompanied by his wife, and prayed for the prosperity of the state.
Speaking about Ujjain’s historical importance, Dr. Yadav said that Avanti, the ancient name of Ujjain, has existed through every phase of time. This city has remained ever vibrant and has been the karmabhoomi of great emperors like Samrat Vikramaditya and Emperor Ashoka. Ujjain bears witness to many historical events and spiritual traditions. Maa Kshipra has stood as a silent witness to numerous sacred happenings, while Mokshadayini Avanti has been considered the capital of the gods. The city’s legacy is linked to eminent figures like Mahakavi Kalidas and Raja Bharthari.
CM Dr. Yadav affirmed the state government's commitment to welfare of the underprivileged, ongoing industrial development, and attracting large-scale investments due to progressive industrial policies. Special attention is being given to education and healthcare, with a notable increase in the number of medical colleges. Traditional Indian systems of medicine are being embraced with respect. He also noted that Madhya Pradesh is a leader in water storage initiatives, and that festivals connect people deeply with nature and divinity.
