On the occasion of World Environment Day, Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel planted a sapling in the Navgrah Garden of Raj Bhavan. He planted a Ramphal (bullock's heart) sapling. Governor Shri Patel also appealed to the people of the state to plant trees and take care of them. He said that all of us should definitely plant a tree on special occasions of our lives like birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor, Shri K. C. Gupta, planted a lychee sapling. Additional Secretary Shri Umashankar Bhargava planted a Sindoor (vermilion tree) sapling.
