Hyderabad, Apr 13 (Reporter) Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Sunday flagged off the “Jai Bhim Padayatra” from Raj Bhavan, commemorating the 134th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar.
The Padayatra was organized in line with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports' directive to conduct a nation-wide "Jai Bhim Padayatra" in all state capitals.
In Telangana, the event saw enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides, and staff of the Raj Bhavan, who came together to pay homage to the chief architect of the Indian Constitution and a stalwart of social justice.
The march concluded at Dr B R Ambedkar’s statue at Necklace Road.
Prior to the march, the Governor offered floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar’s portrait at Raj Bhavan, honouring his enduring legacy and unwavering commitment to equality and empowerment of the marginalised.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor urged the youth to follow Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals and draw inspiration from his visionary leadership to build a more inclusive and just society.
