Tejashwi writes to PM, urges for reservation for OBCs in private sector and higher judiciary

Patna, May 3 (Reporter) Senior RJD leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Saturday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to take steps for providing reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and deprived sections in private sector as well as higher judiciary. Yadav, also leader of opposition in Bihar assembly, in his letter to Modi, urged him to ensure reservation in private sector and judiciary. 'Merely taking decision to conduct caste census at national level was not enough and it should not be confined in only collecting data of various castes in the country but it should be aimed at making qualitative change in life of OBCs and deprived,' he added. "Narendra Modi government and NDA itself had been opposing caste census, dubbing it as disruptive exercise which would disturb social fabric ", the Senior RJD leader said, adding that time had come to embark on a long journey to achieve the goal of social change as desired by the forefathers and contemporary socialist leaders. Narendra Modi government should ensure that caste census exercise could be completed soon and follow up action taken, he stressed. "Findings of caste census should not be put in cold storage ", Yadav said and added that only partial implementation of Mandal Commission recommendations had been done so far. RJD was in favour of implementation of all recommendations of Mandal Commission, the former Deputy CM pointed out. The Senior RJD leader said that Centre had created a lot of hurdles to prevent caste survey conducted in Bihar.
