Suspicious IED detected, defused in Handwara

Srinagar, Apr 9 (Reporter) A suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detected and defused by security forces in Handwara sub-district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, officials said. They said a suspicious object was found in Hafruda village on the Wadder Hafruda road by the road opening party of the forces during the routine sanitization exercise . Soon after the detection of the suspicious object the traffic on the road was closed and the area was immediately cordoned by the joint forces. Officials said a bomb disposal squad (BDS) was called and later they defused the IED in a controlled manner.
