Mumbai, Jan 10 (Reporter) The Maharashtra cabinet decided to increase the subsidy to be given to landless beneficiaries for the purchase of land under the Pandit deen Dayal Upadhyay Gharkul scheme from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh on Wednesday. The central and state governments have undertaken an ambitious mission to provide houses to all homeless families in rural areas by 2024. Accordingly, grants are provided to the beneficiaries in rural areas under the centrally sponsored Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural as well as state-sponsored Ramai Awas Yojana, Shabari Awas Yojana, and Adim Awas Yojana schemes in the state, said Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. However, some gharkul beneficiaries of this scheme were deprived of gharkul benefits only due to a lack of space.
